Congratulations on your breast reduction, I'm sure your back is loving you right now.

Sorry to hear that you might not be able to breastfeed and probably couldn't BEFORE the reduction (I think some answerers failed to read that part of your detail).

Ignore the critics, who apparently did not read that you couldn't breastfeed even BEFORE your surgery (due to stretched milk ducts) nor understand what we have gone through (I had a breast reduction too!)...

I found this site that could help you a little bit more ...

http://www.bfar.org

that talks about breastfeeding after reduction.

About what? IF you needed the reduction to help with your back (or any reason) that is your choice.

I actually only breast fed 2 of my 4 - my first wouldn't - the 2nd got one bottle and decided formula was better....the other 2 breastfed.

They are all 4 happy healthy kids. And actually one of the BF babies has worse allergies (like hayfever ones) than any of the others.

I'm not going to look down on you - and don't let anyone else either- it's YOUR choice no matter what if you bottle or breast feed.

Well, chances are all ducts were removed...but, no biggie. I just hope you don't end up really big after your pregnancy. I'n ready for the reduction now! Breast feeding, although really good for the baby, is so hard on the Mom. Best of luck to you and your little one and I hope you enjoy (are enjoying) your new boobs!

I'm not sure what your question really is. If your milk ducts are gone and breastfeeding's not an option, then you bottle feed. Breastmilk truly is best and God's plan for babies but it doesn't always work out that way and you can have an intelligent, wonderful child who had formula as a baby.

I had a serious problem with my milk with my youngest and she had to bottle feed.. bottle feed or die of starvation.. hmm.. what's really an option!! She's now 2 and wonderful and healthy as can be! :)

you can buy breast milk if you can locate businesses of that nature, or donors. but if you buy you should expect to pay couple of dollars an ounce which ends up not being cheap.

baby formula may be your best choice. you shouldn't let it bother you that you are unable to breast feed. many babies aren't and end up being just as healthy.

What kind of comments do you want, you knew the pros's and con's before surgery. You were probably suffering due to large breast. Bottle feed and put your angst behind you, you did the right thing.

What do you want here? I mean do you want support from people on yahoo answers for your decision to basically cut up the things that god gave you to feed your children? "Oh sure take the milk ducts but make sure they look pretty!" Sorry, no sympathy here.
