He has a bigger heart than anybody else in the world, certainly incomparable. It is very rare to find a great celebrity role model like this.

Well, he's a human being like the rest of us, but an extraordinary one if you ask me. Bono does what he does in public rather than in private not so he can be all like "oh, look at me! I'm God!" but rather to raise awareness of issues he feels are important. If it wasn't for him, myself and so many others wouldn't be aware of the huge problem of AIDS in Africa.

The world is getting smaller with all the technology we have available. We can't afford to look inwardly anymore. Think about it: if the USA only cared about the people in the USA, if Ireland only cared about Ireland, etc...I just think that would be awful.

We have the means to make a difference, so why shouldn't we? I admire what Bono has done and what he continues to do. OK, so he may have a bit of an ego, but there are worse things. He also possesses a heart the likes of which the world seldom sees.

Viva Bono! Viva U2!

I think he's just a Christian. A "real" Christian I should say. Usually when someone's on tv and claiming to be a Christian, they're spreading a bunch of hatred and intolerance for gays or encouraging others to throw rocks at pregnant teenagers in front of abortion clinics.

Bono is a Christian in the sense that he loves his fellow man more than he loves his own comfort and convenience. He doesn't force his beliefs on others inasmuch as he offers an advertisement of how Christlike action is a much better disply of Christianity than judgmental activism.

So he's not so much an angel as he is a soldier for Christ. We need more of those out there. I think for every Bible-thumping psuedo-Christian talking about how AIDS is a morality issue there needs to be ten Bono's out there actually doing something.

Marjorie-you rock!

I agree with her one hundred percent. I don't know about him being an angel. He is very kind and passionate, but if I were to call him something, he'd be more of a Prophet! :)

His speech at the Image Award was so powerful, I felt it from the inside and couldn't stop the tears.

I think he could very well be. I met him at the Hotel Peabody back in 1988. He's a decent man, is Bono. And caring, and he works hard for social justice and health for those who lack it.

he is incredible and lucky to be in a band that has survived the test of time and corporate commercialism.
The speach he gave at the NAACP image awards was well needed.

He's a sanctimonious Irish protestant-who tries to tap into a nationalist audience-Don't see him giving up chunks of his wealth like Bill Gates does.
Bono aint all that-watch and learn!!

I don't know if he is or isn't, but I know that he gave me goosebumps during his acceptance speech at the NAACP awards. He is an amazing person.
