The President of the US has always had the ability to "fire" any non-elected government official so I don't understand where you are trying to go with your "question". You obviously have no idea of what a Nazi tactic is unless you realize that in Nazi Germany you would have been taken out, along with your children, brothers, sisters, mother and father and shot for your criticism of our Commander in Chief! Hm, maybe not a Nazi ploy after all.

No.

The Constitution sets the standards for firing federal judges. According to Article III, they serve "during good behavior". This has been interpreted by the Supreme Court to mean, "for life, unless impeached or until they choose to retire".

But if you are talking about the recent firings of eight US Attorneys, that is a different matter. As officers within the Executive Branch, the chief executive can have them fired, subject to statutory limits.

And yes, the re-authorization of the Patriot Act in 2006 changed the ways that US Attorneys were appointed, and could well have had some effect on why they were fired.

Do you know how many federal judges are in prison? still drawing pay? would you like to fire them and cancel their pay checks?
Last time I heard the count it was 114 judges at the lowest pay of 159,000 a year. not bad pay to be in prison.
I know I sure would like to see them fired and no pay or benefits.

This is what happens when Congress rushes legislation into law so fast no one has a chance to read any of it.
