Do you have to remove the inside fender well to get at the studs to remove the heater core housing on a 1969 chevy pickup 2wd??

Yes,cause their is one bolt you can't get to. I know I own one. What you can do is take a dremel tool and cut a small square (oblong) in the fender well to access the bolt . Then take a piece of tin larger than the hole and use sheet metal screws to secure the shield plate

Follow the outside of the housing unit. If it goes into the inside of the fenderwell you'll have to remove it. I'm doing the same thing with a 63 Buick. It's a severe pain..
