If it's almost gone, you can't be losing anything more by washing them some more. Why not try to soak them in a mild solution of lemon and vinegar mixed with the water? Then launder as usual.
repeat it as often as it takes for it to be gone.

You're just going to have to air it out.
I bought some wool army surplus blankets online, and when they arrived, they were CAKED in naphthalene. I tried to launder them, and only succeeded in making my washer and dryer smell like mothballs for a couple of weeks (the crystals do not dissolve in water, and will remain where they fall until they sublimate away).
I finally used a vacuum cleaner to suck as many of the flakes off as I could (and yes, the vacuum also smelled for a while), and then just hung them up outside for a couple of weeks. The smell was mostly gone by then, and has since completely disappeared.

The sun is a wonderful tool for removing odors! The sun will draw almost all odors out of anything! So hang it over a line and let the sun do its work (You will want to flip it over to get the other side good!)
In Biology lab we had cardboard boxes full of formaldehyde smell and we set them out in the sun and it got that smell out and trust me if it will get rid of that smell mothballs will be a piece of cake!

Wash it again and add 1/2 cup of white vinegar to the wash. Then air dry outside to air it out.

The person who answered first is correct. Leave it outside to air out. Even if it rains leave it there. The rain water will really help. The smell will leave you comforter set.

Try airing it out... if that doesn't work take it to a cleaner and have them steam it. The smell should come out then.
