Uncontrollable vomiting, nausea, not urinating frequently, diahhrea can be symptoms.. heart palpitations.. are all symptoms of dehydration in pregnancy or not. You may get all or just some, you don't have to have them all. I got dehydrated in 3 of my 5 pregnancies and had to spend a few hours in the ER getting rehydrated.

Try calling your dr and asking for something. If all else fails, go to the ER. There are medications to help. Zofran helped me. I had to take it through my first trimester and into my second. It's expensive but worth it!!

Dehydration in pregnancy can obviously be very dangerous to you and the baby. I'm talking about serious dehydration here, not just people who vomit once and are nauseous all day. If you can't keep anything down at all, not even water- you should see a medical professional.

Symptoms of early or mild dehydration include:

flushed face
extreme thirst, more than normal or unable to drink
dry, warm skin
cannot pass urine or reduced amounts, dark, yellow
dizziness made worse when you are standing
weakness
cramping in the arms and legs
crying with few or no tears
sleepy or irritable
unwell
headaches
dry mouth, dry tongue; with thick saliva.

If you have more then this seek The ER and get a IV. To many people take being dehydrated for granted.

difinative test is blood and check your electrolytes. Pinch the top of your lower arm and watch how fast it returns, should be under 3 sec. Force yourself to drink at least 2 bottles of water a day, Aquafina has some really good ones now with flavor additives, plus Lipton teas, I like the green tea with citrus. Lots and lots of stuff out now, don't have to drink pop. Really easy, just pull one out of the frig and guggle it. Took me 2 years to force myself to drink water, but I do feel much better. Not elated with a buzz on, just long term better. My gf baby and bf were dehydrated at the exact same time, he was hospitalized bcuz he could afford it. You'll just get rest and extra fluids IV so you don't have to drink. I don't know what the signs are probally in google, guess...sunken eyes maybe with dark circles, lethargic. Drink drink drink. Put yourself on a schedule maybe every 4 hours X amt. Only a guess. If your vomiting get over the counter emitrol, much cheaper. Ask pharmacist to find it if your too sick to move.

Not peeing very often - the urine will be very yellowish.

It can cause your heart to beat very fast.

Why aren't you drinking enough? Or are you throwing up that much? If it's due to vomiting - go to your doc and let him give you a med for the vomiting....
