Eddie, you are asking a question that has a variety of answers depending upon ones view of the situation. Many Generals opposed additional troops, as do most Democrats and a number of Republicans. To find out more I suggest that you google, "More Troops for Iraq, helpful or not". In my opinion the whole Iraq occupation has become a disaster for America, and more troops are not the answer.
Good luck

One more chance isn't too much to ask considering the stakes. Al Sadr has left the area, the oil profit sharing is being instituted, and the Iraq army is much better now. I agree with the Democrats to set a time limit for the Iraqi's to take over their own war.
The war itself was a bad idea from the beginning. The country is bitterly divided over it with the loss of life and the severe casualties, and the fact that it is being financed with borrowed money. It needs to end very soon.

Eddie >>> Regardless of congress or public opinions the truth is obvious. The US government has no choice but to stick it out until Iraq can overcome all of its obstacles. The stabilization of Iraq's military and police forces, will help ensure Iraqis and US citizens that the Iraq military and police are physically and mentally ready for battle and what is ahead for the future of Iraq. The US congress and US citizens needs to be patient to allow this new country and government to flourish, instead of mindlessly rushing the Iraq military, police, and government. You have to also take into account that nearly all in the military and police have been victims of fear, and it will take a while for them to build their courage and take a stand against the oppressors without fear. And maybe then the deaths in Iraq will be honored and appreciated with positive changes made for the country by its citizens and foreign forces.
Also there are those who deviously only mention that no WMD were found, and undermine the harboring of terrorist as a second reason for being at war and occupying Iraq. This was confirmed via Internet and media by Osama himself, who also declared that the war will soon be on US soil.
I am glad that our President have the audacity to do something about it. The Democrats way of of dealing with terrorist has been and is totally unproductive. He (bush) is doing better then other Presidents that would have folded their hand and call it quits.

A lot of people don't agree with president Bush for sending the troops to Iraq, We were just suppossed to go over ther and search for weapons. now it an all out war and for what reason? They don't want us over there and Bush can't seem to get it through his head that it is a war that we won't win, all that is happening is bloodshed after bloodshed! But apparently Bush doesn't want to be called a loser, so our troops are still over there! The American people are losing faith in the president!

There has in no way been a president and vice-president extra deserving of impeachment than Bush and Cheney. they are criminals who've made money for great oil and protection contractors. (And themselves, of path.)Their base is the great-wealthy. Bush mentioned that. the only element those human beings care approximately to boot money is tricking as many universal electorate as they are able to into vote casting for them. Bush & Co. giggle all the thank you to the economic employer.

I think he's harming the situation. Iraq is in the midst of a civil war, and it's impossible to militarily occupy a country in that state.
