Im considering moving to either Boston, MA or Philadelphia, PA. Which city is better to have a family in, job market, and housing cost? Like what does a 2 Bedroom apartment go for in either city? Right now im in San Diego, Ca and want to move because its too expensive to live here. Advice please?

I lived in Maryland and have been to Philly a few times. I went to college in Maine and went to Boston a few times. I can say that I liked Boston so much more. Boston is an easy city to drive in and the T is very easy to learn. I always seem to get lost when I go to Philly...always having to go through NJ to get home. Boston also has less crime than Philly. However, there are some really nice towns outside of Philly. Philly is also not that far from Baltimore or DC.

I live outside Philly and housing here is cheaper then Boston (insane prices if you actually want to live in the heart of Boston). I prefer Philly as it is really not hard to get around (and I am the worst person with directions) to anywhere you would really wanna go. You are less then 2 hours to Atlantic City, New York, and Baltimore. There are lots of colleges within an hour radius for your kids to consider in the future. You can live just outside of Philly in some really nice suburbs with great schools and still be just a short ride away from all the action. And you can cross the border into Delaware for some tax free shopping (no sales tax on clothes in PA as well)

Matters what you like. Both have allot of history but the people are different. Boston is full of wusses. Good Will Hunting is like a Boston version of Rocky. A poor person living in Philly always dreams of being a Athlete, weather a guy from Boston wants to be a mathematician. Boston is more expensive, but is in much better shape. Go to Philly, Boston is full of dorks.

They're both great cities. Boston has lots of job opportunities, but finding a place to live is challenging and expensive.

I don't know what the housing market or cost of living is in Philly.
