1) monocots have one seed leaf, dicots have two.
2) cross fertilization can be done manually - as in genetically engineered hybrid corn, or insects may carry the pollen from one plant to another (so can some birds and mammals)
3) to attract the specific cross-pollination vector like bees, birds, flies, bats
4) to catch and hold the pollen so it can fertilize the ovules
5) depending on the type of flower there may be 5 or more stamen
