Ha

There are so many. And I thought you knew football.

Paolo Maldini
Dino Zoff
PAOLO ROSSI (MY FAVE ITALIAN PLAYER EVER!)
Roberto Baggio(matter of factly)
Franco Baresi
Gianno Rivera

You see, I don't want to sound like a Sunday school teacher but you see sometimes footballers of great caliber just doesn't get enough attention. You see, Maradona, Pele and Zidane are obviously talented but the thing is that they got an awful lot of media hype and attention. I think I could go to the extent of saying they're over hyped.
However, I think Maldini, Rossi and Baggio's talents and acheivements haven't recieved that much media attention but they sure are talented.

None.. quite simply to be objective, Italian football has produced many capable defenders and Roberto Baggio but NONE that have reached the magnitude of Maradonna, Pele or Zidane. Those are the top 3 players to play the game in my humble opinion. Someone who says that Italian football has produced many is most likely an Italian or hard-core Italian fan.

Silvio Piola, Gianni Rivera, Franco Baresi, Roberto Baggio, Gigi Buffon.
By the way, Pelé is the only one between the three you mention to be acknowledged also as a great man.

Touzours, you are right---Bagio has nowhere near the legacy of the three greats you mentioned, and the other Italians mentioned in the answers above are far below him. Still, I take nothing away from Italian football as a whole. Their world cups are hard to argue with.
