My blood type is O, Rh+
This means that my parents could have been:
1. OO, AO
2. OO, BO
3. OO, OO
4. AO, AO
5. AO, BO
6. BO, BO
and that at least one of them (the mother), should have been Rh+
In case of your blood being AB, here are your options:
1. AB, OO
2. AB, AB
3. AB, AA
4. AB, BB
5. AA, AB
6. AA, BB
You inherit one allele from the mother and one from the father and they can come in any combination. As these alleles determine the presence of an antigene on the blood cells, there is no question of dominant vs recessive. It is a situation of co-dominance in this case (either you have the allele, i.e the antigene, or you don't).
You don't tell us about your Rhesus factor, but it works in a similar way.

Everyone who has posted is wrong.
It's determined from genetics.
If you're AB, then when of your parents had to have an A allele and one of your parents had to have a B allele.
This means that either one of your parents was A and the other was B. Or one is A and the other is AB. Or one is B and the other is AB. Or they are both AB. These are the only possibilities. You don't automatically get your mother's blood type.

they could be both AB which leads to give for each one of them two chances of genotype (A , B)so the A of one of them (mother or father) are atteched to B of the other to give u AB.
Or
they one of the could be Ai(which means A but not dominant gene) and Bi (which means B but not dominant gene) and again they will give :
A,i B,i (genotypes) ------------------>A from the first and B from the other will give u AB..if u have a brother or a sister with O blood type (or anything but not AB) then the second chance is the one.
there are another posibility but it is complex, this is enough.

based on the descriptions and my elementary determination [commonly biased] I in nice condition AB and O devoid of any of the negatives regardless of the indisputable fact that my self belief may well be perceived for conceitedness sunlight - Aquarius Moon - Aries back bias from determination :/.... human beings opt for what they opt for and it may desire to no longer be the actuality additionally in basic terms 4 types... Dunno my certainly blood form :/... yet i would not be stunned if it replaced into AB or O... regardless of the indisputable fact that that's 50% risk mixed If I had to in nice condition each and each to an component O = hearth or Water B = hearth + Sag + Pisces maybe Water AB = Air or Earth certainly A = Earth... rather Virgo.... additionally fixed warning signs and Water warning signs, in all probability fixed Water too those descriptions are somewhat too numerous each sign and not difficult under pressure right into a sparkling determination yet back like the previous question i might say if somebody had like a setup with maximum cancers sunlight Scorpio moon and many water devoid of Air and then "have been given" [chosen] Sanguine... i may well be like duuuuuuuuuuuude.............BS!!!!!!!!!!... Liar!! in comparison to different individuals i'm no longer politically perfect, i'm elementary... And astrologers do in comparison to working backwards, or asserting an illustration is not greater of "this, or 'that" ... I have no pastime in doing that quite if it rather is the actuality....

The mothers blood is often inherited because otherwise her body will attack the baby if the blood is different. Mine is 0+ and so is my grandma's and maybe my mom's we're not for sure on that though (my mom's blood type)
