My first thought was...give it to me, I can shrink anything. I think that my dryer runs hotter than most, also the hot washing cycle seem to do it for me. Really I think heat is the answer as it shrinks anything with a cotton base fabric. Even without the dryer, the hot water will pull the fabric tighter.
We are not fat just "big boned"...lol

Soak it in boiling hot water in the sink for a couple of hours, then when it cools down throw it in a very hot dryer Take it out every so often to check the sizing. I know you said aside from this, but if you want to shrink it, try it.

commercial dryers get very hot. (these are the type found a laundry-mat.)
Using very hot water during the wash cycle and drying in hot dryer are usually the only way to shrink a cotton tee.
It should cost you no more than $3.00 to do this process a laundry-mat.

Either let my husband wash it or take it to the laundry mat and dry it there!
Also if you have a girlfriend she would probably love to wear it to sleep in!
