You have to be comfortable while driving with your instructor. I had my first one, thought he is fine. For 30 hours I hadn't been on the main road... My second one was better: he put a timetable on when and what i must learn. He was horrible with parking and now i know it was good thing. I passed my test from second time. Was unlucky with an examenator

All Instructors are trained to the same standard but some are better than others at passing on their experience.

The best way is if you know people that have already taken lessons, ask them who they used and whether they would recommend them.

Don't forget that the Instructor simply teaches you what you need to pass your Test, the ability to drive comes with experience.

If you have some experience already (from a family member perhaps) then you could always consider utilising an Intensive Course. They are quite good depending on YOUR ability. They are available in 2,3,5,7 day courses.

Whatever and whoever you decide on, Good Luck with it all!

Once you Pass remember that overconfidence in cars is risky, so relax into the driving and remember what you've been taught!

I agree with the diesel, It's so much easier. Also decide if you want a school or private. Private we'll cost more per lesson but you don't tend to need as many, as your do with a school.
A bit of good advise is to first do your Theory before you book driving lessons. Because if you fail your Theory you cant do your practical anyway, And you'd just be wasting your money on lessons before you need them.

Also think about booking your practical as soon as you find a instructor, As at the moment there is about a 6-7month waiting list to sit the practical. If it's getting near to the date of your test and you don't feel ready you can just take more lessons. Also be aware it costs about £350 to pass.

hi, There are good and undesirable instructors the two lady and male. some scholars get on extra effective with instructors of one intercourse or yet another. All making use of instructors interior the united kingdom are CRB vetted (an identical examine used for persons working with infants and vunerable adults), and the DSA take any accusations of beside the point habit very heavily. To substitute right into a making use of instructor takes quite some time, money, and dedication. that's totally no longer likely that somebody might substitute into an instructor so that they might %. up women. in case you do sense uncomfortable with a definite instructor, tell the making use of faculty or substitute making use of faculties. human beings do get alerts blended up on occasion. superb of success mutually with your gaining knowledge of. Talk to friends and family. Find out if they can recommend someone they have taken lessons with. It's usually the best way to find a good instructor.

If you have a male instructor, get one that you're not attracted too. I once ended up snogging my driving instructor who then took me to a quiet street and reclined his seat! I had to tell him I wasn't interested and he was a tad annoyed. He didn't instruct me all the way home and sat talking on his mobile about me! I didn't report him cos I was too embarrassed, but I didn't have any lessons for ages after that!

A good start might be to find an instructor who's car hasn't got any dents or scratches on it LoL.

You could also try asking your friends and see if they can recommend one.

A diesel car! You'll find it so easy to manouvre everything on the clutch. A Corsa or a Clio is a good smooth easy drive.

Hmm, I would say just choose whatever is at the top of the list in the phone book. They have a tendency to stay still in the passenger seat. You are not watching them, they are watching you.
