Well that depends on what your lookin for
If your a strategy man like me then I would suggest Rome: Total War. Amazing battlefield grpahics make it an awesome pick for an RTSer. So is the Warhammer 40K series. They are a good choice too.

i think stronghold is a good game. you learn how to battle enemies and create your own medieval village and take care of all the slaves
