I have to make a diorama about Amelia Earhart flying over an ocean. I have no idea how I should make the plane or the background or anything. Any tips will help.

http://www.nasaexplores.com is s photo of Earhardt and her plane.
If you search By name and click on images, you can do a montage of her flying career or her life and put a map on the back of the diorama of the fatal leg of her trip, where she disappeared and set a cut out photo glued to a stick and taped upright next to her cut out pop up plane. A few facts about her life and disappearance printed on computer, cut out and glued to exterior of maybe a shoebox painted sky blue with cloud glued around to represent the sky she loved.

Search the net for a picture of a Locheed Electra That was her last plane make the background the sky , the base the ocean.
Make the ocean floor appear as if the plane is at a great height, with small islands as it is believed she was lost over a series of small islands in the pacific. Preferred find a picture of the plane flying, cut it out and suspend it near the top. Include your research to what happened and a description there is lots of material on the web just look.

Take poster board and cut it into a square, then fold this square diagonally to form a triangle, open it and fold it again in the opposite direction. You should have lines that go from the corners to the center of the square. Take scissors and cut one of these lines until you get to the middle of the square, you can then overlap the two segments that are now apart to form the inside of a triangle. Use this to paint the background on, you can imitate islands and ocean in the bottom segment of the triangle and sky and clouds on the other two segments. Doing this you can easily attach the plane from one side to the other.
