Hello again, i recently decided to get a larger tank for payton, my bd, and i have chosen a 75 gallon (6 square feet of floor space) anyway my house temp is always a constant 70 degrees. So i was wondering if anyone could tell me what wattage heat bulb i would need sence the size inprovent is a fairly large one. She was in a 40 gallon breeder before. Any responses would be great... thank you

This is about 21" tall, so you'll need something strong, or an inclined "perch" (rocks or driftwood) below it. I'd go with the second because your BD will need to get within 10" of a UVB. At this distance, a 100 or 150 watt heat lamp sould be okay. You want something a little on the high side with their heat so they don't have to stay in that spot all day to stay warm. Just make sure he can't reach the screen or lamp, or he may get burned. Your dragon's going to like the extra space.

Ditto the comment about no heat rocks!

DO NOT INVEST IN A HEAT ROCK!. as for the wattage-your going to need to experiment until you read the right temps at the basking site- buy a few different wattage's from the hardware store and try at different elevations, etc. i recommend halogen flood bulbs-they put out brighter light and heat.

I'd go with a 75w or 100w halogen flood light. If it's to hot you can always use a dimmer to adjust it. Arranging the basking area so it's at a slant and offering diffrent basking surfaces (slate, wood, etc...) is another great idea. Each surface insulates diffrently so your dragon gets a nice range to choose to bask on.

I'm backing the previous two psoters here, DO NOT use a heat rock. They are notorious for causing thermal burns on stomachs. Beardies dont sense heat well through their stomach so they can burn easily.

ok i understand what you advise on the subject of the cyber web. each and every thing and everybody contradicts one yet another. I dont have a beardie yet yet im examining the thank you to look after them and the familiar public use person-friendly washed play sand. ensure you dont use bark considering is in basic terms too sharp. Definetly dont use calci sand because of the fact often the dragon will consume too lots of it and which will reason impaction. you need to purchase terrerium liner and thats sturdy. floor english walnut shell has a competent organic shade too it and it holds warmth nicely so as this is likewise an option. Dont use pine or cedar shavings because of the fact they have risky oils. % heavily and im specific that extra human beings provide you with suggestion :)

Definatly go with a very high wattage light because the tank is so much larger it needs lot more heat, I'd also invest in a heat rock.
