I live in the mid west and today I planted sugar peas?

I was wondering what I can use to make a thing for them to climb..The space is very big . I have seen people hang string and then the plant grows and climbs it. what kind of sting should i use...any help on growing peas would be great

if you go with string make sure it won't stretch when it gets wet. we used a medium weight welded wire. chicken wire isn't good as the holes are to small for the vines to weave through. you will have to train the vines onto whatever you use until they are long enough. hope this helps and happy growing
