The Republicans put us in this mess, now they blame the Democrats for it.

Not a single Republican has a plan for victory, but the blame the Dems anyway.

It makes the case for patriotism, which is weak. Pro or con, solving the problem is the priority. Many are looking at the whole situation with hindsight and initially, after 9/11 for better or worse, leadership had to use foresight. Actually, there also Republicans who want to get out of Iraq. It is pretty evident that when the "enemy" remains elusive and hidden, it is tough to foresee a victory. Historically, it will be difficult to see three separate groups of people living harmoniously in Iraq. If we had 10,000 Rambo types, it would be a different story. Our troops play by the traditional rules of enemy engagement and the insurgents do not. Take our troops gradually out and the insurgency will implode.

I am a voting Republican and I do not believe that wanting us to get out of Iraq by itself is justification for being labeled Anti-American. I think wanting to impeach the President because you disagree with him and no other reason is anti-American. The office is bigger then the person in it. Do you really want to pass legislation saying that Congress has the right to remove an elected President simple because he is of a different party from them and they don't like his policies?

The reason being if we leave Iraq, the country will be 100x worse off than before we got there and terrorists will surely take over the country. It will be run by either Alquida or Iran and will completely destabilize the region. I think the war was run poorly and could have been rectified several years ago. This is Bush's fault since he was in charge. Rumsfield should have been replaced three years ago.

Wanting to get out of Iraq is just a symptom of the disease that is liberalism. It's not the reason you are un-american. The reason you are un-american is because you believe we the united states cause more harm in this world than we do good.

And it's very bipartisan of you to allow bush to have all they blame for somthing that 99% of congress voted for.

The Republicans need to look like a Party that is tougher with the enemies around the Western nations.

Now there are any number of Republicans who are opposed to this administration and the results of the Bush/Cheney policy. You might read one of my favorites, Paul Craig Roberts who is a staunch Conservative, though adamantly against this administration.

Why do Democrats say what they do about Republicans who are for the war? It goes both ways you know. Both sides need to stop fighting about this, it's like we have two wars going on.

Because that changes the argument away from being a debate on the merits and makes it a purely emotional attack.

And being an emotional attack, they can score points, without ever having to address the actual merits of the issue.

It's a common debating tactic used by both sides.

Because if we fail in Iraq as the old saying goes "Katy bar the door".

If we fail in Iraq, we will end up in a situation where America will find it difficult to intervene in any situation no matter how important it is.

If 3000 soldiers is all it takes for us to pull out. Any country with 20,000 guerilla fighters and are willing to kill 3000 American soldiers can beat us. Thats just about any country in the world.
