The Penny Black was the first UK stamp. It was black in colour and cost a penny. It is incredibly rare nowadays and worth quite a lot of money I believe.

The Two Penny Blue was the UKs second stamp and was blue in colour and cost tuppence :)

Both were issued in May 1840.

The Penny Black was the first postage stamp ever issued by a national government agency. It was introduced in England in the mid 1800's. Twopence blue...got me!
