If the stat light comes on then there must be power there, sounds like an element, ususally in pairs unless its a fan oven, then it's a circular one in the rear.

Possible element failure, if it's fan assisted it will take a round element, may cost £50 + fitted, if not then maybe £40 - 50, main ovens usually take 2 elements so yep it may be the stat also.

it form of feels unusual if the the remainder of the cooker is working often, that those 2 areas are actually not working. it ought to be that the wiring that feeds them has burnt out, this is to lots of a twist of fate that the oven and back plate have long previous defective on the comparable time.

Sounds like the built in trip for the thermostat has gone.. it is a safety feature..they are relatively inexpensive and easy to change..

it could be the element for the oven or a faulty thermostat,i had that problem and it was a faulty thermostat even tho the light was coming on.

probably the element - we had a hotpoint which was only 3 years old and the element failed. Apparently they are less reliable on fan assisted ovens.

Possibly the element needs to be replaced.

sounds like the element has gone, you don't say if its fan assisted, if it is and the fan is running then definitely the element.
