the sims 2 seasons installation help?

uhh ok well i got the sims 2 seasons 2dayy...
but i lost my sims 2 cd like a while back
but i have it installed on my computer
and on the seasons case it says
*Requires The Sims 2, The Sims 2 Special DVD Edition, or The Sims 2 Holiday Edition to play.
but i thought i wouldnt need the cd 2 install seasons, but it says i need 2 insert disc 1 of the sims 2 so i can back up the sims 2 files

is there any way i can install it so i dont have 2 back up my sims 2 files?
thanks cuz i am so mad...i cant find my sims 2 cd anywhere

There is no reason you should need the Sims 2 disc to install Seasons. You should start with the Seasons disc on, then Seasons disc two to install it.

Backing up your games is optional and not required to install Seasons, but it is a good idea to back them up if you don't want to take a chance on losing them.

To back up your games, as long as you did not install them in a custom location, click on your start menu then
My Documents then
EA Games then

Copy the Sims 2 folder and paste it somewhere else. I made a new folder in the EA Games folder and titled it Sims 2 Backups. So I just paste my backup copy in there. To copy it, just right click on the Sims 2 folder and select copy, then open up the folder of the new location you are using to store your backups, then then right click and select paste. I usually change the name of the copy too, I just use something like the date. I back up my games every couple weeks, but always only keep the last two backups saved. The earlier ones I delete. This way if I ever lose my game, it crashes or gets something wrong with it where it is not playable, I at least cant start from my last backup instead of losing everthing.
