I'm talkin about to the NBA because I think the NFL requires a different level of physical maturity than basketball does. So do you think college guys should be able to jump to the NBA early? And do you think they should have to attend class if that's the only reason they're in college?

Young basketball players should be groomed for the NBA. Give them finance courses, public speaking, and other relevant courses to their career. Isn't that what college is about, career development and mental strength?
I think having people in the NBA without college sets an awful precedent. There ought to be a rule to keep them in college and get the mindset to keep them from becoming Shawn Kemp or Ron Artest.

Yes. I would say the same about a software genius who was offered a lucrative job by Microsoft in his junior year.
A college education is not a prerequisite to being an NBA player. As for attending class, many of these guys are just pawns within the system of collegiate sports hypocricy in college acceptance and financial gain (of the institution of higher learning). Yes, they should attend class (even for a token degree) and we shouldn't pick on them if they were accepted to a University.
There are also many brilliant college graduates and non-graduates who have played in the NBA. I would love to hear Charles Barkley's take on this question. I think I'd take a few million dollars instead of paying off tens of thousands of dollars in student loans. You can always go back to college, but you can't always play in the NBA.

you have to play 1 year in Basketball.
you have to play 3 in football.
The NFL is smart. It develops the players' skills and education. The courses they take in College are important for their lives.
Did you know that Oden takes 2 courses.
