Um...I seriously don't get this question.. can anyone please help me with the answer? O.O And show how to do it? O.O Thx. ^^

A model of a sports car is 10 inches long. If the actual car is 14 feet, find the scale of the model.

3 inches in a foot, right?
10/3=3 1/3
if you put that into a ratio it would be
3 1/3:14
BUT only integers can be used in ratios so multiply that by 3 to give you a whole number on both sides of the ratio
10:140

anyway, i think thats right...

1 ft = 12 inches. This is just a fact given by the US metric system.

So to find the scale, they are basically asking for the ratio. Basically multiply [14ft*12 in. = 168 inches] to get the actual car into inches. Therefore the ratio would be a 10 inches :168 inches ratio. I think this is correct... Check it over. Hah.
