You know those flavored lip glosses called Lip Smackers? I have them in all different flavors and colors. I'm obsessed! But because they taste so good whenever I put them on I lick some off my lips. Could this be dangerous? Or had the makers of Lip Smackers knew that people would do it and make the glosses safe and non-toxic? Thanks!

They couldn't sell them if they were toxic in small doses, like what you'd normally lick off or accidentally consume. In other words, say you put it on and then eat a sandwich - if you consumed the entire amount on your lips, you'd probably be fine. That said, they do have an age limit I think (like "for ages 3 and up" or something) from what I remember - it's not good to eat the whole tube! They have petroleum and other goodies in them that CAN harm you if you overdid it.

If you lick your lips and it was toxic, you'd be dead right now.
No it's not toxic! Think about it. Lip Smackers are for younger people and why would the creators of it make it toxic to these little kids!!
And lip gloss is never toxic! It goes practically in your mouth, duh!

I would think that they are very safe. They were around when I was a teen and I'm in my early forties now. They have not been removed from the market in all this time! I used them when I was young and my daughters use them now. We all seem to be fine. I agree that if it is something that goes on your lips they would have to keep it safe! Hope this reassures you!

i highly doubt their toxic because i lick them all the time and nothing bad has happened. i can like live off of eating these things, so no their not toxic =]

i'd say no, i wear lipsmackers often and have never had any health problems so far, plus with all those flavors, little kids are bound to use them so they probably wouldnt make them toxic - hope i helped - God bless!

No it is non-toxic............. I eat my dessert treats perfume cuz it tastes good..... And i don't care if it's toxic i'm not dead!
