What's wrong with the sound on my computer?

The sound on my computer is garbled after I play a game like the Sims2. I'm not sure if it's the game, or my computer. Could somebody help?

Does it happen while playing other games or listening to music or anything else? If not.. then it's prolly the game.

check to see if you got mute on
