I have always lived in a crappy house. The place is always a mess. My dad has an anger problem. My mom ran off with another man. then he was murdered. She came back for a week them ran off again with another man. I never have a lot of money. I'm in the 9th grade. I cant get arround the house because its filled with pointless stuff. The fridge is filled with rotten food so I dont eat much. Just top ramen and water. I try to be as normal as the other people at school but I really know I'm not. My school life is good. Girls like me and I got plenty of friends but my family favors my sister (the not psyco one) They take her out places and buy her nice things while I stay at my dirty home. Once I'm 18 I'm joining the Marines so I can just leave this place. How can I get out of this!

Talk to your school counselor. You are missing out on your life babe. They will find you a place where you can actually live the way you should be and have a normal life. You will actually start looking forward to waking up everyday and living.

The best thing to do is not spend alot of time at home. Take advantage of the school and public library for studying. On the weekends get out and spend time with your friends. Just use your house to shower and sleep in. If the fridge bothers you, well take the trash can over to it and start dumping the rotten food. Ask your Dad if you can get rid of some of the "pointless stuff" and have a garage sale. This way you get to keep the $$ and it helps to get rid of the clutter.

Sometimes you just have to put up with other peoples crap until you are old enough to leave. I think that you have a good level head because you want to join the Marines. This will instill some great values in you as a young man, you will get to travel the world, and get housing and a paycheck all in one.

Good Luck to you, and remember that no one can make you feel inferior without your permission.

Just trudge on the best you can for now. You can talk to a teacher or counselor. You will probably go to a foster home. It might be better, it might not. You sound very level-headed for someone in such an awful situation. You have choices to make. You can talk to an adult who might have you taken from your present home. Does that sound like a possibility you might like? If it does, do it. Do you have any close friends whose parents might take you under their wing? We did this for two of my youngest son's friends. They basically lived with us. I did their laundry, cooked for them, took care of them when they were sick. It wasn't a legal thing, but their parents didn't seem to mind that the kids basically lived with us. We're still very close with both today and they've turned into very fine young men, and we're proud of them. I am so sorry your parents are such selfish, self-centered people. From experience, I know the value of a young person like you. I hope you can get into a situation that allows you to grow into the fine young man it sounds like you have potential for. Start hanging at a good friend's house, get to know the 'rents. See what happens.

Go to a counselor or find a child abuse help line, or go to the cops or something. Tell an adult you trust, because what's going on is not only not right, it's illegal.
