Have had dreams where I am driving down the interstate, and I fall asleep at the wheel. Inpending doom is just seconds away, and I can't get myself to wake up. Is dreaming about sleeping odd. Would like to know what the dreams are trying to say to me.

It means you're not deeply asleep (sleep paralysis) and feelings of not being able to move, talk or control anything are quite common. You are actually unable to move in this state but most people are never aware of it. Having this happen often can in families and is more common with those that have narcolepsy.

Sounds like there is a situation in your life that you are not in control of. That you can somehow influence but maybe is one that you do not wish to influence for some reason. Also in your dream it is upsetting I know. You can train yourself to wake up. When you feel that point coming on. I know. I had a dream like that that was disturbing and repetitive too. Once I mastered waking before the dreaded fall the dream did not recur.

To dream of being asleep, is to be unaware of something. It is literally saying there is something you are asleep to, something you are not aware of.
