All current Presidents live in the White house for the majority of the time. There is a Executive retreat available for Presidents to use for vacation time. The current U.S. President does not use it because he has a home in Texas that he and his wife have owned for many years before he became President. The Clinton's didn't have a home to go to on get aways so they used the one provided to them by the U.S. tax payer. As for Former Presidents they live in their own homes all over the country. They are still protected by the Treasury department.
