Always travel with someone, if you are alone just be aware of your surroundings....or get a beretta like the other guy said =)

Depending on the circumstances, you could always call right when you are pulling in and ask that the front desk look out for you, perhaps giving them your cell ohone number if they do not see you in 5 minutes ETC.
If it is a nice hotel, you can call again and ask for a employee come meet you in parking lot ETC.

drive to a hotel that offers to park your car so you can just drive right up to the front and just walk in...but you will pay for that nights stay a pretty penny.

do not go to the orlando grand when we went we the the only white ppl [ but i am not like racists or anything ] but and we were the only engish speaking ppl! there were no towels or soap and when my thought it would be good to bring in just one bag with just the stuff we would need there were these mexians and the only word we understoud was stratus and the was the kind of car wee had so my ended up bringing in every thing that we had!!! It was so scary! Just thought I would Share that with you have fun!!!!
