Whenever I log off or turn off the computer, there is an error, and I have to manually end the task. Why?

it is most likely a background process such as a anti-virus software. There should be no major problem or reason to worry. They can be annoying but the fact that you are logging off simply does suggest the above.

sounds like some other program is running or trying to run.
