The west side of the United States is located as far as your eyes can see when the sun sets. Way back in '59 folks got together and decided that we should go farther than before and be as west as we could get, so we made Alaska and Hawaii states. That was 50 in all. I guess folks back then liked round numbers too. But to answer your question I guess Alaska stretches so far west that it touches the east or gets pretty darn close anyhow. that's what they call the International Date line. On one side it's Tuesday and on the other side it's Monday.

Now don't ask me to tell which is which cuz I don't want to confuse you any farther than ya already are, see'in is that you don't even know which Ocean is on what side of the Western Hemisphere????? ya buckethead.

A comes before P in the alphabet
Atlantic comes before Pacific
the sun rises in the east and sets in the west
the sun rises over the Atlantic and sets down on the Pacific.

have you got all that sunshine.

Alaska's western tip is farther west than Hawaii and is located between the Bering sea and the Pacific Ocean.
