It isn't just Christians. If you read any of my answers you know I am a Christian and I don't think you are a sinner.

Look, I know the trolls are aggravating but reword the question. It is the fundamentalist Christians that are brainwashed by Jerry Falwell who causes the problems.

Y'know, not all Christians hate gay people. Some Christians are gay. It's when people believe that acts rather than faith determine salvation that you get the people screaming hell in you face. We need to realize that the bible only states one criterion for Heaven: believing that Jesus died for the remission of our sins. After that, the rest is just icing; not saying that we should be content with just believing, I'm just trying to reinforce that we put so much value on what someone else is doing, that we can't see our own faults. We ALL need to strive to do better.

Granted, homosexuality is a sin, so is lying, cheating, adultary, fornicaton, gossip, envy, lust, anger, pride, etc. Sin is sin there are no big and little ones. But, we like to put values on sins, and say that some are worse than others, when the only sin that can send you to hell is not believing.

We need to stop trying to scare people with something that's not even true.

The group that so strongly opposes homosexuality isn't all Christians, it's evangelicals and some fundamentalists. Why are they so vocal about it? It's an element of their particular branch of Christianity. Evangelicals are required by their doctrine (not their religion, but by doctrine, which is something different) not just to care for their own souls, but those of every other person on the planet. It's their job, according to evangelical doctrine, to save others from their sins.

There's a slight problem with the question, too. According to the bible, everyone, without exception, regardless of sexuality is a sinner.

That said, the Bible does not condemn homosexuality, just certain male-male sex acts performed as part of a pagan fertility rite. There is no mention of homosexuality as a state of being, nor of monogamous, loving, homosexual couples.

If you use Biblical principles, everyone is a sinner, and everyone who accepts Jesus as his savior goes to heaven. There are no exceptions for any sexuality.

I'm a Christian and I like you. It's likely that Christians are more conservative than average, but I think it's unfair to generalize to the extent you have in saying Christians don't like you. There are plenty of gay Christians.

Yes, the Bible does say homosexuality is wrong, but that doesn't mean that everything we Christians do is pure and good. We're all sinners. A Christian isn't somebody who is pure and perfect, but somebody whose sins are forgiven.

I think a vocal minority harrasses gays more because of social factors than religious ones. I don't remember Jesus saying anything about gays at all. He apparently had more important things on his mind, and gay/not gay was not a big item on the agenda.

You mean like you are? If a person is a good Christian, they love everyone. We are all sinners, whether we are Christians or not. If we believe in God and believe that Jesus died for our sins, we will go to heaven. In my opinion, if people are 'bothering" you about being a Christian, it's usually because they want you to become one because they want you to realize how great it is and that you'll be saved and spend eternity in heaven! I know it sounds like stuff your grandmother told you when you were a kid. Believe me, I hated hearing about people being saved and religion and all that stuff. But when I gave God a chance, it really changed my life for the better. We're not supposed to judge, either. But most Christians just want you to see how good your life could be if you let God in. That's all.

I'm Catholic and I don't approve of homosexuality but never would I judge you for what you do. That is your business and God will judge when you die not me. I know a lot of people who very vocal in their opinions but my faith has taught me that all people no matter what deserve to be treated with kindness and respect. I feel very sorry that you and other people have been victimized by Christians. They don't know what being a Christian is all about and have no business telling you that your going to Hell.

That's far too big a generalization. Most people I know are Christian and I've never had an issue with anyone.

It would be easier if people could offer 'help' but leave us be when we refuse. But that's no how society works.

We've just gotta put up with it. But in a passive/positive way otherwise we become like those who persecute us.

I'm sorry if Christians bash you. You are right, we should not judge. And if we are right and homosexuality is a sin we (christians) also sin. "All sin and fall short of the glory of God". So we are no better than you. Please forgive them. I have done most of the sins of the 10 commandments and I'm ashamed.
God loves you. Jesus came into this world to save sinners, the lost like me and you. If you follow his teachings you will be saved. Believe, repent (say you are sorry for your sins) and be baptized to wash away your sins (acts 2:38) and you will be saved.
I'll let God judge you. He loves you.
Note to Christians; shame on you. Did you know I have talked to many homosexuals who are suicidal? shame. Let God judge he has better credentials.

Some people have a particular mind set and would fervently dislike gays no matter whether religion played a part in their lives or not.
My late partner and I had 42 years of appalling hatred from her family. By the way they told me I was going to burn in hell because as a Methodist I was part of Satans creation. Weird ? Who can really understand them. Sad when it takes them like that.

I really dont take what they say into account.
What they claim is the word of god, is actually the biggest conspiracy in human history, made up by humans and the doctrines and what is sinful or not where VOTED AND DECIDED in Nicea....They were the ones who decided that Jesus was divine...
So they can say whatever they want,
1: It is their own personal agenta, they simply hate us and just find it conforming that their book made of MAN hates us too
2: Even if there is a god, they really didnt bother to get the idea and actual meanings of his teachings...they killed his son instead and they would do it again if he came back...they would either call him a terrorist or a homosexual etc.
