can somebody help me factor 3s^2+2s-8...........Meaning 3S squared + 2s - 8

Well, (3s-4)(s+2)...you should use foil to see how the two combine. Remember you dont always have to multiply to get the number in front of s

Put it =0 and find the roots
s=((-2+-sqrt(4+96))/6 s= -2 and s = 4/3
so the factoring is (s+2)*(3s-4)
