Do you think the standard is dire, a celebrity version of Fame Academy with a load of lousy singers who would not be allowed to sing in a pub and Castaway presented by Danny Wallace.

All the answers here are absolutely correct. There are more repeats than original stuff. The 'original ' stuff is pretty much c**p anyway. The licence fee goes up & the quality goes down. Every now & then the Beeb brags about its wonderful productions of the classics (that cost a fortune) & some of them are great, but the average person pays for a service that should deliver 'across the board' entertaiment. ITV is often no better & it's true that Sunday PM is a repeat of Sat night progs.
People watching on Sat eve...adverts bring in £££... People who were out on Sat eve, watching on Sunday....adverts bring in £££ How cheap is that?

Unfortunately Sunday is not the only day that shows rubbish. There has been much talk recently about 'dumbing down' television. Of course, the television companies deny this but the programmes speak for themselves. I don't watch daytime tv, but evening tv is bad. All I seem to see in tv listings is soaps, soaps and more soaps. Reality tv? I watched one instance of Big Brother and lasted 5 minutes.

On one sad occasion I sat and counted how many repeat programmes were shown on broadcast tv (BBC, ITV etc) in one day and was astounded to find that over 75% of the programmes were repeats. This included childrens progs.

Quite how tv companies justify this is beyond me. To top it all BBC want above inflation rises for the licence. They have to be the best comedians on the box.

Yes!
Why have they brought back castaway after 7 years, I cant imagine anyone missed it!
So bored of all these charity contests with so-called famous ppl too! Not interested in seeing ppl like Linda robson make fool of themselves.

I do like the sunday night dramas they have on sometimes, like waking the dead etc, but thats finished now too. They never make enough episodes.

TV is generally putrid on a Sunday, even if you have Sky most things are repeats. Apart from Top Gear, but now that has finished.
