it says that the server "mail.mac.com" refused to allow a connection on port 143
however, i can use mail.mac.com to check my email and email other people
also, when i try to use sites like mets.com, myspace.com, yahoo.com and many other sites, safari says "safari can't open page "http://www.(Sitename).com" because it could not connect to the server "www.(Sitename).com".
someone please help, mac couldnt help me with it and my service provider hasnt been able to help me

It seems your browser may have a bug. Run anti-virus/anti-spyware software, remove anything found, and see if it'll work then. If it still doesn't, re-install your browser. If the problem still persists, download a new browser such as FireFox.
