Popcorn, in itself, is not fattening. It's a low-calorie food with plenty of roughage. It's all the extra stuff, especially the loads of butter, that is fattening.

Depends if it is buttered or not unbuttered popcorn is not fattening at all and way less than chips but buttered that is quite a bit more.

Not particularly, if you make it right. If you pop at home in a pot with just a little bit of oil and some salt, then it's not at all unhealthy. But the stuff you buy at the movies is really awful.

Popcorn by itself is not fattening.

The oil and butter that is added to it is.

I don't think it's fattening unless you put a lot of butter on it but it's not good to it all the time. It isn't healthy because of the microwave radiation or something.

not really as long as it is air popped and no butter, but then what is the point because then it tastes like card board. Better off to just have a little of the good stuff to satisfy your craving.

The popcorn isn't, it's the butter you put on it that's a killer.

Only if it has butter, plain with a little flaxseed oil and a little salt is very good for you!
