The American Revolution and the Civil War were both wars for independence. They were both fought primarily in the east (although the Civil War spread west as far as Oklahoma and Texas). Victory in the Revolution established the United States and victory in the Civil War preserved the United States. The tactics used were largely the same in both wars, too (two armies line up 50 yards apart and fill each other with lead).

Differences: the Revolution was fought to establish the United States. The Civil War was fought to divide it (from the Confederate point of view). The Civil War was Americans against Americans while the Revolution was against England. Europe actively participated in the Revolution while they stood by and observed (for the most part) during the Civil War. Slavery was a main issue of the Civil War while it was a non-issue during the Revolution.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Hope this helps.

The American revolution started when the 13 British colonies of north America declared their independence from Great Britain, but it did not end with the creation of the United Statesian nation in 1776. The American revolution continued for several decades, it was not until December 9, 1824 that General Antonio Jose de Sucre completed the task of Peruvian independence by defeating royalist forces at the hacienda of Ayacucho near Huamanga (a city later renamed Ayacucho). This battle in the remote southern highlands effectively ended the long era of Spanish colonial rule in America putting an end to the American revolution.

The American continent was a colony/viceroyalty of the European powers for about 300 years, with the US war of independence the American continent begun a war against these colonial powers for it's independence, this war did not end until 1825, that was the American revolution. Not the Argentinian, Venezuelan or United Statesian wars of independence.

The importance of the last battle for Peruvian independence resides in the fact that it was the last battle fought for American independence, hence, putting an end to the American revolution against European colonial powers

The United Statesian Civil war was an internal affair.

Hope that helps.

American revolution - The colonists (future americans) gain independence from England.

Civil War - The United States is a nation torn apart (union and the confederacy) that has a war within itself. Slavery and other issues are the cause of the war.
