it's not a warning, just your fear
Dreams depict your fears, they are seldom predictions. So learn from the dream to sort out what is troubling you. Don't use them to trouble yourself.

No, its not a warning not to do it, it just meant that you have worries about meeting her and you may be scared that she will not live up to your expectations and that she will be horrible. The fact that she said there were 8 of you is your insecurity that maybe you had siblings and worry whether you were the only one given up for adoption and if so, why. It may also be your fear that you will be rejected if you meet her.

I cant advise you on whether to search for her or not as i dont know your situation, but you definately shouldnt read anything into your dream, it is simply your brain's way of trying to make sense of your thoughts and fears, not a premonition.

Sometimes the best person to interpet a dream is yourself, as it represents differant emotions and feelings which are personal to you. Ask yourself questions such as what was the main feeling in the dream, how did the situation make you feel, what do you think is the cause of the dream? What did the whole dream represent to you?
From a psycological point of view, dreams are access to our unconscious so it could be feelings you have been suppressing, perhaps the feeling of fear. I wouldnt say it was a sign not to see her though, just an underlying fear you may have to face if you decide to see her.

I'm also adopted and have traced and am now in contact with my birth Mother.
Your dream suggests to me that although you want to find her, you're worried about rejection from her or that your expectations of her may be wrong, also you could reverse this as is often the case with dreams and be worried about feeling let down with the person that you meet.
Good luck! I'm so glad that I met my birth Mother, also once she got over the shock of meeting me, we discovered so many likenesses and a family history to trace.

It is you and soul searching, you are ready to venture in finding out about the real mom, do it but do not upest the adopted parents, remember they pulled you through and helped for you to grow up.
Lots go on the venture to search, but it is also can be a painfull road remember that.

Dreams are highly personal messages from within that no one else can decode for you. Everyone has built up within themselves a unique language of meaning based on their life experiences, and dreams use that language. Look deep within without fear to find the interpretation of your dream. Good luck!

It could be a delayed sense of fear towards your birth parents. It's unlikely to be a warning it's not always necessary to know where you came from to know who you are. Who you are is defined by what you do so ask yourself, is it worth finding them or not??

it means that subconsiously you have doubts about whether your birth mother wants you to find her. take a few days give it some thought then decide what to do. then take it 1 step at a time

you are preparing yourself for a meeting, you imagine the worst so that what ever the outcome you either feel good if the dream was wrong or you feel good that the you weren't
shocked by the result

Not at all, it's your fear of being rejected/disappointed... That's all.
I don't believe this dream was a warning at all, just your subcontious worries
