The universe is actually an evolving entity.
We furnish the consciousness that the universe possesses,so it and us are a part of each other.
I t is logical to assume that the extension of it's consciousness is repeated many times throughout in what we call aliens.
The inorganic parts of the universe doesn't imply the it is not collectively alive.
I guess now it is a matter of definition.

The universe has an organizing character to it, similar in kind but lesser in degree than what we usually call life. The laws of nature in our universe have made a habit of bringing new and higher properties into existence through statistical interplay and convergences among earlier and simpler properties. The faith is grounded in physics and formed around the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche, with the grand sentimentality of Richard Wagner. Its main tenet is that the purpose of life is to improve itself, to grow in power and wisdom, to bring forth the best of all that which might be, both in itself and in its world, until life someday ascends to the scope and the scale of deity. Until then, we and our heirs are to the universe as enzymes are to us. If you're into feeling mystical about the actual laws of nature, it might be just your trip.

My belief is that the universe and everything within it is one huge living entity. The being that I call god is the life force, which is made up of all living things including the universe. Look at pictures of the universe, the galaxy, and a single cell within your body, as well as within all other living things. They all look much the same. The life force is my god.

Yes it is alive. It is made with atoms and the atoms consistantly are moving. Atoms have a nucleus in the center and electrons rotate around the nucleus in orbits just like the planets rotate around the sun
