One of the major factors for the increase in health care costs is due to undocumented workers abusing the system. Several California hospitals went bankrupt because they were constantly using emergency rooms for non-urgent care.

"In some hospitals, as much as two-thirds of total operating costs are for uncompensated care for [undocumented workers]. (Read more: The Sinking Lifeboat: Uncontrolled Immigration and the U.S. Healthcare System - Executive Summary FAIR)

Try walking into a HMO's Emergency Room in California. Most of the patients are speaking Spanish.

Those HMOs are forced to pass along the costs to its members.

You have no idea of what you are talking about. Undocumented workers do not get health care benefits. lol

As far as the expense on 'emergency care' they are more than offset by the taxes undocumented workers pay and never collect on the benefits those taxes pay for.

This is akin to the mantra that was common 30 years ago "the US military build-up of the 80's bankrupted the Soviet Union because they could not keep up" idiotic, the Soviet Union was not competing in that military build-up. In this case undocumented workers are paying billions more into the system than they take out.

all i know is that i just had a baby in Delaware and the office that had medicaid said that we made to much to get help. like 20.00 to much. then the lady there said that if i had no ss# that i would be covered. we just changed jobs and i was pass the 30 day mark to get any other coverage. i have served in the army,i'm a volunteer with the scouts, i donate my time to charities, and i give blood. i am an American that feel threw the cracks here. i good person that should have received some help and instead i got the shaft because i was not an illegal. i don't understand how it seems that the illegal people feel obligated to be here and recieve help they didn't fight for or earn.if we go to there country and get hurt we sit on the streat and bleed to deth. i think we should all run for Canada and see how it feels to take advantage of someone else for a change.the are hurting this nation sending money where it does no good to us. if they made and spent it here we could use it but no they earn the money at rates US workers can't bargan with then they send it home for them to spend somewhere we can't see any benifit from. so please stop acting like we owe you anything. your makeing it almost imposible to live here and i was born on in this nation and i fought for it just like my ansesters did. so i think if you can't become legaly we should just kick you out and send you so far away that you can't come back or give everyone guns that lives on the border. besides the crimerate and the drug problem we get from you . and don't say that we don't get drugs from mexico where the hell do you think they grow the stuff in the first place where it's cold or hot . i mean really just GET OUT. sorry about the spelling my spell check isn't working

In the current debate over immigration, virtually all politicians--Republicans and Democrats alike--agree that the U.S. has to control its borders. But it’s only the southern border that they’re concerned about.

Since September 11 especially, politicians claim that tougher enforcement on the U.S.-Mexico border is of utmost importance in stopping terrorism. But not a single documented case of terrorists “infiltrating” the U.S has occurred at the Mexican border.

The politicians’ concerns about border control have nothing to do with security--and everything to do with using Mexican immigrants as scapegoats.

A look at the numbers proves this. Some 250 million people cross the border between Mexico and the U.S. each year. Less than 1 percent cross without authorization.

We need undocumented workers now just as we did during WWII when we had the Brazo program. Mexicans were permitted to come in, work with part of their wages sent home by their employer, then return home. We should allow men only, preferably on the condition they first get sterilized so they do not produce 60% dropouts. Leave their families and baby machines home.

There has never been an political issue that disturbs me as much as this one. This country has been torn apart by not only the war, but by illegal immigrants! Im disgusted by the failure of our homeland security regarding illegal immigration. I sure hope the excuse solely lies on the focus of the war because if I felt for a second that our government is accepting of this mass immigration of illegals, I might just have to take a trip to Texas w/ my shotgun!!

The US Government is condoning the OPEN border with Mexico. Therefore, we would just be spinning our wheels to deport them - only for them to immediately return. USA Politicians cannot reach agreement on the problem because Farmers and Big Business want the cheap labor.

This has to do with immigration. Border security and control will substantially decrease this deficit. United Nations' jurisdiction combined with the White House and Congress approval will grant Governors the right to effectively monitor this problem, http://www.voteprimous.com

You already are. portion of the reason hospitals value plenty is because of the fact if an unlawful shows up interior the ER and bails devoid of paying, the cost of the physicians' time spent and kit used could desire to nonetheless be met. So the rest human beings %. up their tab. What it quite comes right down to is despite in case you may desire to pay for illegals' well being care via your medical charges, or via a nationwide well being care tax. in my view, i might particularly artwork to cause them to legal voters so their very very own tax money might bypass in direction of this or so that they might make a minimum of minimum salary and function the skill to get their very very own coverage via artwork, yet that's yet another subject...

Yes, remove them to a remote area in the dessert. Eventually, Mexico will run out of people. Then take their land. Sounds like a plan.
