Please don't leave. There are some really good people on the site.
Though, I must admit myself to often getting carried away and typing faster than I am thinking, and snapping answers out a little too fast.

What you have to do, is beware the Trolls.
You will soon notice that the ones making the most hate filled, name calling, misinformed comments are not regular Yahoo Answer Users.
Just look at their Profile, and you will see that most have negative points, they make a new name, post 5 or 10 really immature questions, then delete that name and make a new one, to start all over again.
All you can do, is report them for violating the TOS and hope enough people do likewise, so their Yahoo Account is suspended or closed.
And you will also notice, like two of post above me, even long time Yahoo Answer users can be closed minded and try and blame people from one political affiliation for all the problems.
When Trolls post questions from both sides of the political spectrum.

Everyone thinks they are right. Amazingly the angriest ones are the ones who are farthest off from the truth!
Just let it slide. Realize all these folks are scared and this is a safe place to lash out and let loose. Don't take it personally dear.
I agree, there is so much hostility and hatred, but instead of running, I try to talk people past that so that they move on and learn. Hatred is due to ignorance and the deliberate polarization of society.
It is always over stupid things too.
There are idiots everywhere. When I find I have just about had enough, I go to polls or some light place and just have fun. It seems politics and religion are the angriest places.
However, the trolls just come in and say something outrageous, gets lots of flack up and then move on having accomplished their immature goals. They don't have a lot of points and if you look at their Q & A you find usually some pattern of idiocy.
Most of us are just nice folks.
Go figger.

I agree. The reason you see all the crapola on here is because most of them are teenagers who can't think and use profanity... The place is crawling with them
It is really hard to find a mature adult to have a debate with - I only open every 2 or 3 pages...Best way to spot an idiot teen or 20 something is by their screen name, the bad spelling in the question and really, really stupid statements and scenarios.
I, too, am looking for a mature discussion board...haven't found it yet....just a bunch of uneducated under-30's with a big mouth and no brains.

The problem is the Yahoo leans to the Right which means you get a lot of undereducated, ignorant, arrogant, close minded, conservative, theocrats who have never left the red state that they live in & think they all of a sudden have become experts on geo politics because they watch Fox News 24 hours a day. That tends to make a person a "hater" & that's why you find so many of them on Yahoo answers.

I don't blame you for being disgusted over the political arena. The right winged troll has way too many accounts he is using to spam the site with. It's really a sickness, and the he can't answer any questions since he doesn't know anything. Results are spam and hatred speech.

I've wondered the same thing myself,, their just some throw-backs from Karl Rove to,, mis-use words,,, in an effort to change the subject,,, because the Bush team lie,, they try to start problems by character assassination,, or starting rumors,,, anything except,, accepting any responsibility for their many blunders,,, GWB is a failing president,, but he could care less,,, the American people have never mattered to him,, he lives in a bubble.... we just have to pay it forward...

They are ignorant, and miserable people! Same as the one's who just can't wait to report someone for a violation!
