It is very clear that the war is illegal under international law, and that the United States is the aggressor. That is usually the criteria by which reparations are enforced.

archangel, the provision you need to read is in Article VI:
"This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land"

The UN Charter is a treaty.

I think so, but really feel it should come from the people who benefited from this war, the american population is just simpletons that followed the corporate agenda blindly ....

I hate to say the average american is responsible,,, given that our leaders are the ones who tricked us....

Why would America pay reparations for the actions of the United Statesians? that makes no sense.

It is likely that you meant to say 'Should the US pay reparations?"

You see, there is no such a thing as ‘American’ nationality, America is not a nation America is a continent with many nations in it. The US never named itself the name of the United States is a designation it comes from the end of the Declaration of Independence, "WE, therefore, the Representatives of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in GENERAL CONGRESS, Assembled...". The preamble to the U.S. Constitution reiterated the phrase: "We the People of the United States..." (The authors of these two documents probably used the phrase "united states" in place of a list of colonies/states because they remained uncertain at the time of drafting which colonies/states would sign off on the sentiments therein.) The geographic term "America" specifies the states' home on the American continent.

It is therefor incorrect to refer to US citizens as Americans with the intent of denoting citizenship, or the United States as America with the intent of denoting a nation. Americans have a term for US citizens, we are called United Statesians by the rest of Americans, to say American with the intent of denoting citizenship or America when we mean the United States reflects poorly on our attitude towards the 70% of Americans that are not United Statesians.

Also, although some people would like to believe that America is not one but two continents, North America and South America. If you think about it though, the term U.S. of A. is a glaring example that this line of thought is incorrect, if America was two continents instead of one, shouldn’t it be U.S. of N.A. (North America)? We say Columbus discovered..... ? AMERICA, not South America or North America.

Lastly, while everybody in America from Nome to Patagonia, from Easter Island to Greenland is an American, not every United Statesian is an American. For instance, Hawaiians are as United Statesians as they come, but they ARE NOT Americans, they are Pacific Islanders.

That said, I think the US has more than paid for the Iraq war, and by the way, the reparations are usually paid by the loser not the agresor.

Hope that helps.

We already giving them millions in aid.

International law? If you want to go by what the UN says then THEY shouldve invaded Iraq for Saddam violating 17 UN security council resolutions. The US was just backing up the talk of the UN.

We owe the UN nothing at all. In fact, we need to pull the plug on it and cut funding for it because it has simply turned into a liberal monstrosity. It is an abomination to the interests of justice and has become vehemntly anti-US and anti-Israel.

I never noticed the provision for international law in the constitution. Where's that at?

I think I should get reparations for reading your questions.

I hope not, it is bad enough that we are losing lives and spending billions of dollars as it is, and then for us to go and pay for reparations...We should make Bush and Cheney pay for it with all the oil profits they are receiving..

I'm pretty sure we have reparations underway, already, and have for several years now.

And isn't that what Liberals are screaming about? They want the money here for their socialistic programs?
