You wouldn't be a good friend if you let your friend and your friendship with said friend slip away because you weren't friendly enough to let that friend know that you were just making a friendly joke, how is that for an answer friend? I also just wanted to type friend...a couple times.

Of course I would tell them I was joking, but if they fell out with me over something that trivial, they never really were my friend!

I'd tell them to get a sense of humour and tell everybody you know the wrong age anyway.
