they called me gay once. she told me to reply "why yes, i am happy".

That's what some mums do, saves them actually having to deal with the problem.
BUT... I found that if someone was trying to argue with me or wind me up the most annoying thing to them is to be the nicest person you can and don't argue back, how can they hate someone so lovely. So mum's do make abit of sense.

When I was at school it was called teasing. Nowadays it is called bullying. My Mum told me that I'd get teased and whether I would like boarding school or not depended on how I'd react. She knew.

at least your pernts knew i was to scared so i kept my mouth shut untill i snaped then i tolld the hed of year and the little Smeg Hed got expelld
