there's an old song I am trying to remember, recorded sometime in the mid eighties. It is a duet between two famous singers, I think they were gay. An older man, I think in a suit on the video and a young bloke dressed in black.
The chorus goes something like... and then you came my way...all of the night and all of the day... with no trouble at all... Good luck, If my clues are any help, please let me know, I want to make a surprise CD for my mum.

I'm not sure Gene Pitney was gay though.

Just from your clues, my guess would be "Don't let the sun go down" - Elton John and George Michael. Not sure about that chorus, though.
