Sorry i spelled it wrong it is Zyban not Zycam .but here is some hope! Here's the story. some ppl were taking a pill for depression it was called Wellbutrin. After a few weeks of taking this pill they let their doctors know that they had no desire to smoke and they quit. My doctor told me that the pill ppl renamed the pill to ZYBAN and made it a quit smoking pill. And it is very expensive, but my doctor is cool so he gave me a prescription for Wellbutrin. And the first 2 wks you take it you continue to smoke then on the 3rd wk you stop smoking and keep taking the pill for about 2 to 3 months you have no withdraws symptoms it is the best and i know because i smoked 2 pks a day and i tried everything avalible to quit and nothing worked untill Wellbutrin or ZYBAN It has been 7 yrs. I am so glad it is to expensive. And sometimes it does not matter how much you want to quit some ppl just cannot. My doc told me some ppl are more addicted than other and it does not matter how much will power you have. Some ppl just need more help than others.

The answer is simple: just don't put the cigarette in your mouth.
Don't have cigarettes around your home or car and forget about aids to stopping smoking. Decide that you are going to quit and nothing will stop you from doing so.

Nothing will happen to you. I guarantee it. You will never completely lose the taste for a cigarette but you will manage it quite well and it will not be a craving.

In a few weeks I will be 70 yoa. From age twelve to age 61, I was a heavy smoker of all tobacco products. I only tried once to quit during that time and I was successful but I later restarted simply because I wanted to smoke. It is a habit not an addiction.

When I entered my fifties I decided that I needed to quit smoking but I believed all the hype the so-called health professionals were putting forth. I believed that I was addicted and probably a slave to the weed. But I looked all around me and saw that all my peers had quit and that they had gone cold turkey. Outside of a few irritable days they all had successfully quit. They had their reasons to quit and they followed their reasoning. I thought to myself that they were no better than I and that I too could quit. When I finally got up the nerve to do so it became the easiest thing in the world.

Today after lunch while sipping a lovely chardonnay I had a brief thought of how nice a Marlboro would go with this. But I immediately thought who needs it. You can do this if you will psych yourself into it. Getting prepared to quit is much harder than the act of quitting. Get yourself ready and then just do it.

I know a couple of ways.

One girl did it by smoking until the urge was curbed and then stopping, and she kept doing that until she could just quit.

Another person I know quit by getting this little watch-sized computer. You hit a button every time you have a cigarette. Then, after a week the machine will beep - when it does you have a cigarette whether you want one or not. After a month it will lower the levels in your blood down until you don't need cigarettes anymore. No, I don't know what it's called.

Go on some sort of trip where you'll be away from society - a hike or something - after three days you will not be PHYSICALLY addicted anymore. Then it's a matter of habit - holding a pencil instead of a cigarette, substituting the smoking behavior for something else.

Try "Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking" I read that book in a day (I had nothing planned) and quit. No shock treatment. Just results. Pick up the book. Its about 20 bucks at a local chapters.

There is a new prescription drug called Chantix that works. It blocks the urge for nicotine instead of releasing regulated amounts like the gum and patches do. Ask your doc about it.

Here's a good tips.
Set a date line when you want to stop.
Take it slowly. Reduce it day by day.
Tell your friends and family that you wanna quit so they dont offer you cigarette.
Chew mint chewing gum when you feel like smoking.
When you have stop smoking dont ever take onther puff.

I used to smoke two packages a day until about 7 years ago and I quit. The secret is, get it right in your mind first and believe that you can do it. If you think you can't, then you're already doomed to failure. I reached the point, after many failed attempts, that I not only needed to quit bit I wanted to and believed that I could. I never smoked another cigarette from that day forward. Good luck.

Get a girlfriend/boyfried (don't know your gender) who is really hot and who you love to death but won't go out with you unless you stop smoking. It'll work, seriously.
Throw away the cigarettes, burn if you have to. And don't let yourself buy more. It doesn't take much self control to think, "OH NO, I'M DRIVING STRAIGHT TOWARDS SOME STORE THAT SELLS CIGARETTES WITH THE INTENT OF BUYING SOME. ABORT!"
