I am trying to find the lyrics of an old childhood song?

I am trying to find the lyrics of an old song that i must have heard or sung a lot when i was a kid? It is always in the back of my mind but i only know a few of the lines....it starts out like:

listen children to a story that was written long ago
about a kingdom on a mountain, and the valley folk below....

there are also a few lines like go a head and hurt your neighbor, go a head a cheat a friend
