One way to do this is to make all three of the fractions have the same denominator so you can compare them. the greatest denominator is 6 so to make 1/2 and 1/3 have a denominator of 6 you figure out the denominator times what number gives you six. For 1/2 its 3 and for 1/3 its 2. so multiply the numerator and denominator by those numbers. 1/2 times 3(1x3,2x3)=3/6. 1/3 times 2(1x2,3x2)=2/6.
So the new fractions you have are 3/6, 2/6, and 5/6. least to greatest --->2/6, 3/6, 5/6 which would be 1/3, 1/2, 5/6.

There's an easy way to compare two fractions.

a/b vs c/d ?

All you have to do is take a x d and compare with b x c.
If a x d > b x c then a/b is greater.

Just use this to sort them.

1/3 1/2 5/6

It might be easiest to write change each fraction to "sixths". That is, 1/2 = 3/6.

Then, when everything has the same denominator, you can simply look at the numerator to see which fraction is largest.
