There is nothing we can do.

NASA has measured the temperature increase accross the solar system since 1985:

Mercury .8 degrees
Venus .7 degrees
Earth .6 degrees
Mars .6 degrees

Global warming is due to cyclic increased solar output. There is NO scientific evidence it has anything to do with "greenhouse gasses", pollution, or anything else man does. Don't let the greens frighten you. Use the internet to search NASA's information concerning the sun and the solar system...then relax.

The best things you can do are to keep learning more about how climate works, and to understand as best you can the science of weather and climate. This will help you make more persuasive arguments to the people who need convincing that global warming is very real, and that there are things we can do as citizens (and that they can do as leaders) to both adapt to and mitigate the effects of overloading our atmosphere with CO2 in such a short time frame.

Learning the science will make you stand out in your arguments from the denialists who rely on deception and ignorance to cast doubt. This is not a simple subject, but there are many people out there in the scientific community willing to help increase understanding of weather and climate, and educate the open-minded. Take advantage of them! Ask plenty of questions, and make sure you understand what is known and what is uncertain. And share the knowledge you gain with others when you can.

Dear Lucky - Good question. What I do is write or email my representatives and my Senators. Tell them you are concerned and want to see them take a more pro-active stance on Global Warming. If you are too young for that you can help your parents become smarter about this subject and encourage them to write these letters. Young people in elementary through high school need to receive education and training each year of their school years on the seriousness of global warming and what can be done to put a stop to its growth. That generation will be the one that will act politically to solve the problem once and for all in my opinion. Meanwhile we can start that process by keeping it in front of our representatives.

Hi Lucky. You are not alone . But it does NOT have to kill anyone if we prepare. It's just that we need more TIME to get ready for it. Conserve, plant, and be happy. You'll be OK.
