Someone you enjoy being with, who brings out the best in you, that you respect and admire, who is fun to be with, that you can trust, who has compatible values, goals and beliefs as yours. Someone who you can see as a great life-long partner. Someone who you find attractive now and that you will still want to be with even when/if their physical attractiveness is gone.
And another important thing: they need to feel all of the above about you, too.

Honey you just don't go out and select one there not to be bought, and we don't always make the right move first time around if and when you fall in love and want to spend your life with this person, even then it doesn't mean there your life partner we all change if we are lucky the relationship will survive this and grow if not we go are separate way's and start again I know its hard and not fun and sometimes we get hurt but that's life, it would be nice if we could meet someone and that's it forever and were happy and don't need anything or anyone else but I'm afraid its not always like that but don't look to hard if its meant to be it will be you cannot force love or try to hang onto something that's dead live life to the max and one day when you least expect it it will happen

U don selct a life partner unless u got a handful of them available on hand now or then.
A true partner somehow comes to someone unexpectly and the least u would dream that is possible.
Honestly not every1 gets this priviledge. But try to lower yr requirements which makes yr dream come true easier.
Whether how gd or how bad a person is mainly depends on how u think and u want her to be! Cheers.

The most important things to think about are the things you agree on in terms of morals and values. How do either of you feel about things like Gay marriage? open relationships? abortion? politics? Are either of you particularly religious? Are you the same religion? How do you want to raise your kids? Those are important because your favorite kind of music or movies will change, but your major personal convictions stand strong forever. My fiance and I are polar opposites when it comes to things like movies or music, but when it comes down to our major beliefs, those make up a huge part of the relationship.

Look for the same moral values. It may help to sit down and decide what you know you can't live with. If you can't live with them going out for a night with their friends with out you, then you need to find someone who doesn't need to go out for a night by themselves with friends. If you can't stand to have the tupperware in the pots and pans cupboard, then you shouldn't pick someone to spend your life with who has to have the tupperware in the pots and pans drawer. I use to have one heck of a list of "can't live withs", and I'm extremely happy I did it that way. It makes life much more pleasant.
